Who writes Visit Corfu

Visit Corfu is an independent guide for people who land at CFU and need the next 72 hours to work on an Ionian island — not a generic Greece round-up. We write for walkers in the UNESCO Old Town first (Spianada, Liston, Old Fortress), then for the green bus to Paleokastritsa, the Achilleion gardens and the Easter Botides pot-throwing tradition. We are not the municipality, not a hotel group, and not a scraped brochure.

The site exists because most “top 10 Corfu” lists skip the numbers that actually decide a day: Zone A blue-bus fare (€1.30), Line 15 from the airport, Old Fortress closing times, and when Achilleion’s interior is closed for restoration. Corfu’s Venetian lanes, Empress Sisi’s villa, Mouse Island views from Kanoni and ferry links toward Italy and Albania are why people come; cited fares and hours are why they need a guide that can be checked against official sources.

Contact: hello@visitcorfu.city. Corrections and broken-link reports go to the same address. Photo licences live on credits.

Method

How we verify facts

City facts — names, fares, phones, coordinates — live in one config file and are copied into pages. If a number cannot be sourced, we write “check locally” instead of guessing. Blue-bus fares come from Astiko KTEL Kerkyras; green coaches from KTEL Kerkyras; CFU taxis from cfu-airport.gr; fortress tickets from odysseus.culture.gr; Achilleion from achillion-corfu.gr. Check date on this site: August 2026 (editorial refresh October 2026).

We do not invent restaurant or hotel names. We describe areas, dishes and price bands. When a page says “checked August 2026”, that is the last pass against the official page, not a promise the operator will never change a timetable.

Found a wrong fare? Email hello@visitcorfu.city with the page URL, the number you saw, and the official source. We treat that as an edit, not as customer service theatre.
Maintenance

How we keep the guide useful

Visit Corfu is a living site, not a one-shot brochure dump. We maintain roughly two dozen English guides (airport transfer, getting around, Old Town walks, Paleokastritsa, Achilleion, beaches, Easter timing, budget tools, map routes) plus Greek and German hand translations and other language versions. Each practical page carries an inline check date next to fares and hours.

When an operator changes a timetable or ticket price, we patch the config and re-publish. Monthly maintenance re-checks the highest-traffic pages (airport, buses, fortress tickets). Event listings are rebuilt from a maintained calendar. Photo credits stay on credits so every Commons image remains attributable.

If you return in six months and a number looks stale, email us — that feedback is how the guide stays honest.

Independence

Ads, affiliates and what we will not do

Visit Corfu may show advertising (including Google AdSense when the site is approved to serve ads) and may earn a commission from booking links. Those links sit in marked partner slots. Advertising never decides which bus we recommend or which fortress we describe first. We do not sell editorial mentions of hotels or tours. We are not affiliated with the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands.

Privacy details — cookies, analytics, ads — are on the privacy policy. How to reach us: contact.

Common questions

About this site

Is Visit Corfu the official tourism site?

No. This is an independent guide. The official municipal body is the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands. We cite official operator pages for fares and hours; we do not speak for them.

How often are prices updated?

Practical numbers were last verified August 2026 and dated inline. Operators change timetables without notice. If a source page disagrees with us, trust the source and email hello@visitcorfu.city so we can patch the page.

How do I report a mistake?

Email hello@visitcorfu.city with the page address, the wrong number, and a link to the official page. That is the fastest path. We do not take corrections via hotel WhatsApp or anonymous forms.
